Go to NADA with 20/20 Vision

It’s that time of year again. NADA 2020 is hitting Las Vegas and it’s time to get ready.
You spend a large amount of time and money to plan trade show trips. What are you going to do this year to take your experience to the next level and get the most out of it?
We figure you have the trade show basics down – bring comfortable shoes, appropriate attire, business cards, and plenty of snacks.
We have a few more trade show tips to add:
Know what you want to get out of the event
You can’t go into a show blind. Do your research before the event. Who is coming and what do they have to offer? Think about your dealership’s goals and determine which booths would be most relevant for you to visit.
Use your goals and create a strategy to help you balance your time between sessions and booth visits. You aren’t going to be able to be everywhere at once, but the NADA show app can help. If more than one person from your dealership is attending, be sure to divide and conquer. You can share notes later.
Connect and reconnect
Attendees are always told to network. While typically this means making new connections, you shouldn’t stop there. Meet with your current vendors to preserve current relationships and see what new projects they are working on. You may be among the first to see something that could give your dealership an early advantage.
Make vendors walk the walk
You’re going to hear people talk all day long. Dive deeper and request a demo to see what they are talking about put into action. It will be easier to know if it would be the right solution for your dealership when you can see exactly how it works and the value it provides.
Once it’s all over, make a game plan
This week will send you into information overload. Take the time to go over notes, experiences, and new ideas with your team. Determine what will help you reach your dealership’s goals and what can realistically be done. Create objectives, assign tasks, and maintain clear communication with your team about who you need to contact for follow-up and what it will take to move forward.
Enjoy yourself
We hope this one is obvious. Take the time to sharpen your knowledge about industry happenings, but be sure to have fun while doing it. It is Vegas, after all!
